How to Assign Grading Scale Details to a GPA Calculation Setting

Click the Options Menu, verify the Site in which you want to work is selected in the Site Drop Down List Box.

Then click Site Advanced Setup.

Click the GPA Calculation Settings Tab.

Click the GPA Calculation Details Tab.

GPA Calculation Setting: Use the Drop Down List Box or type to enter the GPA Setting in which you want to work.

Click the Grading Scale Details Tab.

Assign the Grading Scale by which the students' GPA will be calculated. Only assign those Grading Scale Details that affect the student's GPA.

Note: For example, in a standard grading scale, where the Grading Codes are A, B, C, D, F, S and U, the Grading Scale Codes that will affect the students' GPA are typcially A, B, C, D and F.

To assign a Grading Scale Detail listed in the Available Grading Scale Details Grid to the GPA Calculation Setting, simply click next to the Grading Scale.

If you want to add multiple Details that are listed consecutively, press and hold the shift key on your keyboard, click the first and the last Detail you want to add. Then, click .

If you want to add multiple Details that are NOT listed consecutively, press and hold the control key on your keyboard, click each Detail you want to add.

Then, click .

Now the assigned Grading Scale Detail will display in the Selected Grading Scale Details Grid. Note: Be sure to assign Grading Scale Details for each applicable Grading Scale.

The system defaults to Include in Weighted GPA Points and Include in Weighted Numeric Percentage check boxes as selected. If you DO NOT want the grade figured into the Weighted GPA or Weighted Numeric Percentage, you will need to edit the Selected Grading Scale Detail.

For example, if the GPA Calculation should only include the Weighted GPA Points or Numeric Percentage for an A or B, then the other grades can be excluded by editing the Include in GPA Point or Include in Numeric Percentage Check Box for those grades.

Note: Normally, an F Grading Code should not be included in the Weighted GPA Calculation. Therefore, the Include in Check Box should be un-checked.

To do this, select the Grading Code you want to edit from the Grading Scale Grid.

Then, clicknext to the Grading Scale Grid.

The Grading Scale Detail Form will appear.

Un-check the appropriate Check Box(es).

Click .

If you want to remove a Grading Scale Detail from the GPA Calculation Setting, select the Detail from the Selected Grading Scale Details Grid. The selected Detail is highlighted in blue.

Then, click next to the Selected Grading Scale Details Grid.

A confirmation screen will appear.
