How to Add a GPA Calculation Setting

Click the Options Menu, verify the Site in which you want to work is selected in the Site Drop Down List Box.

 

Then click Site Advanced Setup.

 

Click the GPA Calculation Settings Tab.

 

Click the GPA Calculation Settings Tab.

 

Click next to the GPA Calculation Settings Grid.

 

The GPA Calculation Settings Form will appear.

 

Input specifications are as follows:

 

Name: Enter a name for the GPA Calculation. Note: This is the name that will print on the student's Grade Card or Transcript.

 

Calculation Method: Use the Drop Down List Box or type to enter the Calculation Method.

 

Non-Weighted: If you select Non-Weighted, the Application will use the GPA points entered on the Grading Scale.

 

Numeric Weighted: The system will calculate the GPA based on the numeric value entered for the student's Grade plus the system will see if the subject is weighted to determine if the student should receive additional Grade Point Average points for the subject.

 

Numeric: The system will calculate the GPA based on the numeric value entered for the students' Grade in the subject.

 

Weighted: When calculating the Grade Point Average, the system will see if the subject is weighted to determine if the student should receive additional Grade Point Average points for the subject.

 

Non-Weighted+Weighted: The system will determine the GPA based on the Non-Weighted basis, then adds all the Weighted Points on top of the Non-Weighted GPA.

 

Round To: Enter the number of decimal places to round the GPA to once it has been calculated.

 

Rank Type: Use the Drop Down List Box or type to enter how you would like the system to rank the GPA Calculations.

 

By Student: The ByStudent Count Rank Type will assign the next highest rank according the number of students selected for the GPA calculation.

By GPA: The ByGPA Rank Type will assign the next highest rank according to the calculated GPA for the selected students.

Include Other Marks: Check this Check Box to include Other Marks in the GPA calculation. Typically, you would include Other Marks for GPAs displaying on transcripts such as a Rank in Class.

 

Include Estimated Marks: Check this Check Box to include the estimated grades that are not yet calculated in the GPA calculation. You would include this option if you were projecting what a GPA would be if the grades were recorded.

 

Click to save the GPA Calculation Setting.

 

Click to save the GPA Calculation Setting and add another.

 

After you have added a GPA Calculation Setting, you will need to assign grading scale details, assign grade selector details and add GPA ranges.
